Roscoe came to us in 2003 from What-A-Mug in Tucson but bred by SBK who has many great decendants out there including Rio Bravo's Phoebe (see www.riobravobulldogs.com/OEBfemales.htm). He is line bred and also reproduces himself consistently with most any female. He has great health and even greater attitude. He's the star of our show here achieving his Championship Title in three shows. He has 6 majors and only 2 are required for the title. He will be competing for a Grand Champion Title in January at the GCSBC Show in Arizona (if not at the 2008 Nationals in Texas). We had only attended a handful of shows due to a serious lack of venues for showing these beautiful dogs and was the inspiration for us to found the Grand Canyon State Bulldogge Club in mid-2004. This club has been sanctioned by the IOEBA and growing. We grew enough that we were able to host the 2006 National IOEBA Event here in Phoenix where he confirmed that his first show wins as a junior male were not simply a fluke, but truly a reflection of his conformation to the IOEBA Breed Standards. That day in Texas in 2005, while we didn't take "Best in Show", we did win the Blue Ribbon for his class as well as trophies for "Best Male" and then "Best of Breed" beating the very first IOEBA Champion Olde English Bulldogge. "Best in Show" that day went to Wired Kennels' Olde Boston Bulldogge - who was the first IOEBA Champion dog that wasn't an Olde English Bulldogge. We are very blessed
to have discovered the Olde English Bulldogge Breed that day and even moreso to have acquired such an excellent example of what the breed should be. Bragging rights should also be noted for his picture being on the registry's "Points Standings" page on their website (see http://www.ioeba.net/IOEBAShowPoints.htm) since he was a junior male. He as also appeared several times on the front page too. You cannot imagine our pride. While Roscoe is not large in size at 65 pounds and 18 inches tall, he does meet the standards very nicely including his great health and athleticism. He will keep our program well in line with the maximum weight for males being 85 pounds. While many breeders are trying to get their dogges bigger and bigger - some greater than 100+ pounds, we feel that the breed standards are there to be followed, not exceeded. Roscoe will be here with us until his end, hopefully for many, many years to come! | | | |
